Looks like the Samsung is the best option for me at this price point and size. Is there anything else comparable at this stage?

Starting to get excited to order. I'm gonna start trying to convince the company to order soon. Either that or I'll just suck it up and buy the other peripherals now.

Just order. We're talking miniscule differences at this point. Just make sure you get the 840 PRO, not just the 840. Anywho, grats on the new box bro.

Gonna be putting the order in for the peripherals on September 23rd. Should have everything in by October, then it's just a matter of finding time to put it all together. Should have the box up and running by mid-October. Thanks for all the help, folks. As always, your knowledge is greatly appreciated. Special props to Minute for the private message. Thanks a lot bro.

Hey folks, for those that're curious, I ordered all the parts, but haven't had time to assemble everything. I'm hoping to finally build this rig of mine tomorrow or Friday, if I can get some free time. I'll try and post pics for those that're interested in what the final build looks like.

As an aside, I did end up changing the motherboard, so the final build looks like this:

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Upgraded USB 3.0
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 990FX AM3 ATX Mainboard
CPU: AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor
PSU: Rosewill LIGHTNING-1000 1000W
SSD: SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ
HDD: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache
GPU: Gigabyte GF GTX760 OC II 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E Video Card (probably will SLI eventually)
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

Any thoughts on the overall build? Any complaints? Things I could've done differently (I'm not above replacing a few things and putting the others in another rig)?

Thanks again, as always, to everyone who helped out. Much appreciated, folks.

Finally got around to completing it and still haven't bothered to pull all the old crap off my other computer. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it. The only issue I've noticed is that if I leave it running, it seems to shut off like there was a power outage. I have to turn off the PSU and then restart it. I think this might just be something to do with a power setting in windows that I haven't figured out as I'm still trying to learn Windows 7. The cable management was disastrous on this, but it's still not too bad, just some crap barely showing on the front end of the window. The rest of it looks pretty clean.

I need to buy a plug to connect to the PSU directly to run one of the fans, as the mobo only has 3 + CPU fan slot and the case comes with 4. Not really necessary, with all the cooling in there, but a nice addition anyway. If I try to SLI the graphics card with a second GTX760 it's going to be very tight, but it can be done. I'll probably look at doing so in the new year and plead for more help then.

Thanks again, all. I'm very happy with the finished product. I loaded up Skyrim, just to get a feel for it and this thing doesn't even flinch at that with ultra high settings. I tried to upload some pics, but it turns out they're way too big and it's 2:30am now and I'm too tired to mess with it. I'm gonna be out of town all weekend (somehow got roped into going to a Bills game) but will try and upload something for you all to see the result of your efforts. It really is a pretty little setup, I think. Could just be me, though.

Thanks again, folks.

So I'm building a budget computer. And Newegg had a little sale or two.

Case: Rosewill THOR v2 ATX
CPU: AMD A10-6800 Richland 4.1Ghz ('cuz evidently they're concentrating on the FM2 architecture in the future.)
MB: ASUS A88X-PRO FM2+/FM2
GPU: Sapphire Radeon 7950.

Way too much RAM, couple non-special HD's, still using the Rosewill 1300w PS. Assembly starts Monday. Yay me.

Sounds like you need to build a new one too, Dd! Join the craze! I have to admit, I am really loving having a new PC. I forgot how nice it is to never have any loss of FPS regardless of settings.
