Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

Thought I would post a brief little update on this. I'm not going to be ordering until probably mid-September, as I'm getting the peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers) through my company, when they're doing a bulk order of new computer stuff. Right now, I've taken everyone's advice and th...

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

If I'm going to be potentially going the SLI route with either the 760 or 770, would I be better off getting a 1000w power supply? I'm looking at this, right now since I imagine dual cards would lead to some high PSU demands. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182239&Tpk=rosewil...

Re: Syncing Outlook with Mobile Device

Thanks for the advice, guys. I think we're upgrading all our stuff in the office to get Exchange in the next few months, which will solve everything. Until then, I'm probably going to just swap the iPhone for a Blackberry as it will automatically sync stuff, so that I don't need to spend 4 hours try...

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

The one game I play the most is probably League of Legends... Which I've heard has some issues with SLI. Not that it matters, any of these graphics cards will run it at optimal performance with no problem at all. For the most part, my gaming ranges a lot. I'm just trying to get something that I won'...

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

I may just try the SLi approach, then... Any idea how the 2 660's would match up versus the 770 in the long run? I was thinking if I found the 770 ever lacking I could always SLi it later, as an option for increased performance down the road, too. But I honestly haven't followed technology enough in...

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

I'm thinking I want this rig to still be able to handle anything in 5 years. Maybe not top of the line, but able to handle it still. I realize technological development could completely throw that idea under the bus, but that's the goal. Is it really possible that a cheaper graphics option will be a...

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

I'm gonna go with one of the 256GB SSD's for sure and a 1TB HDD to drop the rest of my crap on. Thanks for the advice there, Minute and Tax. Any further thoughts on Video Cards? I ended up jumping back up to the $400 GTX770. It seems to have gotten a lot of very positive reviews and looking at the c...

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

I was thinking later that I might just get a small SSD (120-250gb) and then a secondary HDD for my 'baggage'. I figure if I have any games I'm playing currently (I usually don't have more than 2 installed at once) plus my OS (Vista64... Ugh) I should be able to manage with a light SSD. Does that mak...

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

What're thoughts on the video card? I want to be able to stand with the next gen console stuff that we'll see in a year. Is that secondary video card going to be enough?

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

I've got a lot of baggage? There's just a lot of shit on my computer. Which might be an issue all on it's own, really. I wouldn't want to get one with less than 250 on it. Besides, it's not like I'm hurting for money, I can shell out a little bit more if it's going to jack up my performance. If ther...

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

Would I still get very similar performance from this, if I went to it instead of the other graphics card?

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

Would this:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6820227758

Be worth dropping the Hard drive and doubling the price? I have no problem spending the extra $200. Is it going to give me a very noticeable performance jump? I really feel like I need that 400 gigs minimum, unfortunately.

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

The video card is one of the things I had figured might draw some fire. I'm actually normally a Radeon guy, but Tom's Hardware gave this one the best review for high end stuff. I was just looking at a SSD too, Minute. My big concern is, right now I think my desktop uses about 200 gigs + Windows. So,...

Re: Build me a computer, geeks!

The RAM is more or less just because I can. I don't care about spending a little more to go overboard on something like that, because it's all so dirt cheap.

Build me a computer, geeks!

All joking aside, I'm once again building a new computer, because my current one isn't impressive anymore. This is what I'm looking at in terms of build right now. For a comfy price of $1,400 + Peripherals I don't mind it. The reason I'm posting this is to get your guys' opinions on if there's somet...

Re: Syncing Outlook with Mobile Device

Sorry Kulaf, I didn't specify that I want to be able to do it without having to physically connect to the machine where outlook is. So far, the only way I've found for it is to use products like skydrive, thus far. Our mail is hosted via our ISP, so I'm not entirely sure if it can sync up the way ou...

Syncing Outlook with Mobile Device

Does anyone know of a good, preferably cheap way to sync up the calendar/tasks/e-mail on Outlook with a mobile phone, specifically iPhone5? The reason being that I've recently become a partner in a Money Service Business and I need a way to manage my time/e-mails while on the go (I'm still playing h...

Re: This is the End

I've heard nothing but really good stuff about this. I'm pretty damn anxious to go see it, but I haven't found the time. When summer rolls around, it seems like my schedule gets jam packed and I always miss the good movies while they're in theaters.

Re: The Fatty McFatterson Disease

I'm with Dd (even if he is a useless fat sack of shit ;) ). I didn't think it was overly derisive. The tone suggested he was mocking the decision more than the individuals to me. But that's just my interpretation. Minute, you should look at the positives here... Your business is about to go up. 95% ...

Re: The Fatty McFatterson Disease

I understand that by getting this categorized as a disease it opens up a lot of avenues for people to seek help with their weight issues. I support that. Having said that, I gotta say... I'm with Minute on this one. The vast majority of the 'obesity epidemic' in the US isn't caused by glandular dise...
