Re: Everquest Next

This is the thing that drives me nuts about games like EQN. They seem to have gotten themselves into that grey area between 'reboot' and 'new game entirely'. So, it's an EQ game, set prior to the events of EQ, but they changed the name of a major continent, dropped a dozen dieties (Rodcet, Tunare, T...

Re: Steam Summer Sale June 19-30

I just can't resist these things... I bought 6 games before I forced myself to close the window. Dammit!

Re: New Game of Thrones

Dd's link echoes my own thoughts on Stoneheart. I think Martin shouldn't have brought her back at all - it really undermines the impact of arguably his most noteworthy scene. When I was watching the many, many cuts from the books to the show I felt cheated, but having had a little more time to think...

Re: League of Legends?

I don't really play it as much anymore, either. It just started to feel like a grind, for some reason.

And Tax always thought I was someone else too. Some friend of his with a similar name. Sometimes when we'd queue up, I'd just wait and see how many games it'd take him to realize.

That's what I figured. Also, I have like 5,000 Station Points. I'm sure I can use it to grab most of that stuff anyway.

Re: EverQuest Next - Landmark Alpha

I'll probably buy into this later this week.

Quick question, is it worth it to spend the extra money to get the Settler/Trailblazer stuff? Or is all that basically just fluff?

Re: New Game of Thrones

They've taken a few wild detours from the story in the books at this stage. I'm not entirely convinced that it's for the best. Granted, since Martin doesn't seem interested in finishing the books in his own life time, I guess HBO had to step in and they might as well start molding it to their image ...

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Saw this on Thursday and was pleasantly surprised. I've never been a big Captain America fan, but I really enjoyed this movie. There was more intrigue than I'm used to seeing in a 'super hero' movie, that typically just boils down to super powers vs super powers. It was a nice change of pace.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

How was GSP's acting? His wretched accent is painful for me and I just can't see him playing a very strong role. Granted, he's playing a french kick boxer so it shouldn't be a huge stretch. I have to imagine he did all his own stuff and it would be cool to see the fight scenes.

Re: fuck you, cancer

Sorry to hear about all this, Jaro. I've lost a lot of family to cancer and I'm sure nothing a faceless jerk like me on the internet can say to help you through it, but if you ever need an ear or anything, feel free to shoot me a PM. Sometimes, it's just nice to vent.

Cancer is a fucking cunt.

This news was enough for me to re-install it on my computer, login for 30 seconds go "Meh." before logging out.

I may play around later on with it. A free 85 Ranger could be a very powerful thing. I just like to poke my head back in now and again and see what's new.

Watched some youtube gameplay of this and it looks like it might be kinda interesting. I dunno if it'd hold me for long, though.

Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth

Yeah, that was the disappointing part. I got maybe 12-15 hours, but I fucked around, checked out the whole town and surrounding areas, etc. for fun. There really isn't a whole lot of replay to it either. You've heard all the jokes and there isn't much to it. You max out at level 15 right now, which ...

South Park: The Stick of Truth

If you're not a fan of the show, do not buy this game. Having said that, I just finished it off and it was shockingly enjoyable. None of the laugh out loud hilarity I expected, but still a decent game to pay a little service to fans. Pretty basic RPG with all the familiar faces from South Park and a...

Re: New Book Series?

I might have to try and read that second Fitz/Fool trilogy again. I tried before, but it didn't grab me. They kinda lost me with the 'replacement' in the second trilogy. I don't think I ever finished the first book. I'll have to give it another shot at some point.

Re: New Book Series?

I enjoyed the Farseer trilogy, but I don't think it'd be Minute's cup of tea. That series is extremely slow going. It's like Lord of the Rings, without the battles. From what I remember (its been a few years) it was kinda dull. It's like the polar opposite of Abercrombie's style. I try to avoid reco...

Re: New Book Series?

Abercrombie is so badass it's not even funny. I loved that series (the end of the first trilogy was kinda... meh) and especially Logan. He might've been one of my favourite characters of all time. Him, The Dogman and Shivers were all really well written, though Shivers kinda turns into a pussy somet...
