Re: Interesting economy take

Partha- You are blowing this way out of proportion. Default rates are indeed higher, but it's not going to break the economy. You need to realize that 47.% is a solid equity number. If it was a HUGE crisis, that percentage, as I said in my previous post, would be more like 25%. If you really underst...

Re: Into The Wild

The article I linked was written by the author of the book and I thought it was really good summation of the events leading up to McCandless' death. You are right, he seemed to be a very subborn individual that would just ingore you. I think Penn's goal was to make him far more human than the book....

Re: Interesting economy take

Um, what do you not understand, Partha? 47.5% of the total value of all homes (the equity number Feroli is referring to) in the US is a rediculous number. That number has four commas in it. The vast majority of homeowners have very secure equity positions. If that number was more like 25%, I'd be wo...

Re: Into The Wild

We watched this film last night. I didn't read the book, but I remember the news events back in 1992. I was a senior in high school that year. Overall, the film was very well done. A very good fictional story based on the real events. Excellent character development and very good acting across the b...

Of course, you should ask what these two do for a living, as well... Those two gentlemen are two of the smartest bankers and financial analysts on the West Coast. They run an elite banker's bank out of San Francisco. They are very highly regarded in their industry and consult hundreds of banks acro...

Huh? That quote talks more about about shifting investments than pure consumer spending.

Interesting economy take

At present, the economy is at the proverbial fork in the road. There have been few other times in history where the economy has gone to the recessionary precipice and teetered on the edge. While real estate and the credit markets are attempting to tip us over, low interest rates, a weak dollar and t...

Well, all I can say is, good for Howard Dean. This result sounds very fair to me.

Re: Stardust

Fun movie. We really liked it. Entertaining, plenty of conflict, DeNiro was great and the action and plot were fun. I enjoyed this film, despite a few small flaws.

Solid B+

shiny gold boobs that are entirely CG

The boobs of that serf chick at the beginning of the film were much more entertaining.

Re: Beowulf

This film was average. I think I had too high expectations. The CG was stiff. I liked Polar Express more. I was a little disappointed with the story. I was hoping for a little more accuracy as far as the great poem goes. WTF was all that about Beowulf and the king having children with Grendel's moth...
