Re: Bear Sterns Sold!

The problem is that Bear wouldn't have that option - if they went into bankruptcy then the liquidators would foreclose on every loan they could (which has issues in itself if there isn't a clear title) and use it to service the $102b of repurchase agreements Bear has outstanding. The reason they ar...

Re: Bear Sterns Sold!

Kulaf is right and as I posted before, the Fed is simply supporting, by way of a $30B note, the mortgage backed securities Bear Stearns has that JPMorgan is acquiring. The Fed is making sure that JPMorgan does not go in and liquidate the securities. If they had to do that, the mortgage market would ...

Re: Bear Sterns Sold!

I don't know Bear Stearns balance sheet mix either, but as of 11/07 on the asset side, of the $395B in assets, $269B were tied up in long-term investments. And since they are an investment bank, you can bet a significant portion of those assets are mortgage-backed securities. On step further, Embar,...

Re: PSP

I'm well into God of War and I really really love it. Lots of good content, good story and lots of weapon upgrades. The whole thing is really well done.

I'll check out FF2 when I'm done with God of War, since Madden 09 doesn't come out till August.

Re: Bear Sterns Sold!

It is obvious that Bear Stearns has made some bad decisions in the past couple years. There's nothing wrong with the Fed backing $30B. They aren't funding the $236MM stock purchase. They can't legally do that. They are simply giving JPMorgan a treasury note to secure the $30B mortgage securities JPM...

Re: Ebay question

I have bought and sold quite a few things on eBay and have had a vast majority of things work out great. I think my rep is up to 80 or so at 100% positive. My worst and best eBay stories involve a similar product. I have sold about a half-dozen pairs of Air Jordan shoes on eBay. One pair sold for ju...

You should stay together for the sake of the children. But as soon as the kids are grown and gone, I wouldn't be surprised if she files for divorce and takes all his stuff in the process.

Awake

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0211933/ I really didn't have high hopes for this movie because of Hayden Christensen's dumb ass. For the record, I thought he butchered Anakin like no one else could in the SW prequels, but I'm sure I'm not alone in that opinion on this board. The only reason I got it wa...
