Clinton!

Postby Flunkie » Mon Dec 31, 2007 12:29 pm The funny thing about Clinton is that I don't think she really has much of an agenda, I think she just really really really wants to be the President. She would likely toy around with the healthcare issue, but I doubt anything truly beneficial would come o...

Re: Obamacare

I work for an employer that has always had great coverage options for it's employees. Although my wife works, I carry her on my policy because it's a better and more cost effective plan for us. Anyway, I don't care much about Obamacare right now, but for the heck of it I went to Covered California t...

Re: Scary Poll Numbers for the President

I'm pretty sure no president has been reelected with unemployment over 8%, but here are the last several reelections: Unemployment Rate Incumbent President Election year Election Outcome 7.7 percent Gerald Ford (R) 1976 Democratic victory 7.5 percent Jimmy Carter (D) 1980 Republican victory 7.2 perc...

I think on P99 you aren't allowed to have more than one account per IP address without some kind special permission. Of course if you're using Macroquest, you probably found away around that problem I guess.

He is sueing because he spent all of his money being a space monkey for two weeks. Now that he's back on Earth, he's broke.

Their earnings per share are certainly different this year from every other year. :D

The CEO will be gone next year or the company will fold, that's my prediction.

Electronic Arts - Madness!

It's like this: EA is between slumps. EA just posted 310 million 2nd quarter losses, they are laying off 500-600 people, stock has plummited. They have generated much hatred and ill will by implementing SecuROM with limited Authorizations/Activations/Installations. There are now multiple class actio...

Re: Spore

Is it really a game or just a sandbox? It sounds too simplistic from what I've been hearing. Of course I'll never buy it with the DRM. Maybe I'll try a torrent version although I know I won't be able to see anything anyone has created.

Re: Palin as Republican VEEP

Didn't want to start a new thread just for this, but it appears that Palin is now accused of nepotism. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=washingtonstory&sid=aLUlRcLKxIg4 Shortly after she was elected governor, Palin's office signed off on hiring Deborah Richter -- who attended college for a ye...

Re: Palin as Republican VEEP

The annual budget (and more) is spent up each year giving emergancy health care to illegal aliens and free needles to many of the people on this forum. Seriously, wtf? If you honestly want to look at where most of the budget goes, it's the military. The issues you mentioned barely raise a bullet po...

Re: Palin as Republican VEEP

It's really an 'I owe you' from the government to the people. No Social Security was a play on the fears of the Great Depression to make sure no little old grannies who lost their husbands would be destitute. And before it ever sent any money it was raided for other programs. You praise a program l...

Besides Starforce, SecuROM is and the activation limit is the only DRM I've encountered that I refuse pay for. SecuROM makes Steam look very appealing in comparison.

Re: Spore

From what I've heard (I don't have first hand knowledge), a few people have had problems with the installation and tried reinstalling it using up activations. Also someone claimed that they did a driver upgrade for their video card and had to burn an activation on it. One guy claimed he installed it...

Re: Palin as Republican VEEP

News flash; Social Security is and has been solvent for years, News flash: Social Security was raided before the first check was ever cut and its the worst investment possible. The real news is that Social Security isn't an investment at all. It's really an 'I owe you' from the government to the pe...

Re: Spore

Spore has been flat out hammered in the reviews over the DRM. I've added to the chorus on Amazon and other sites. At this time Amazon has over 700 posted reviews and is at 1 star. I of course won't buy it as I have game that go back to the '80s. If I had to call EA tech support to install Starflight...

Oh God, you can't possibly be that naïve. Crap like that has been going on since the dawn of time. You don't think Obama or Biden is capable of the same or worse?

Re: CA set to slash state workers' pay

I predicted a major California budget crisis on this board last year. The problem is all those foreclosures and the falling property values. The State government never toned down thier spending, and unbelievably wants to increase spending in the face of drastically lower revenues. To make up the sho...

Re: SS dies in 2017??!

How is shifting the cost from a direct cost to a tax burden going to help the auto industry? Or is the funding for this national healthcare system going to fly out of your ass? So what is your explanation for why the Japan is kicking Detroit's ass? American automakers are too sluggish to react to t...

Re: SS dies in 2017??!

The system isn't fundamentally broken. Taking money out of the system is the problem. Let's use you planning your retirement, without the help of the Government as an example. You decide to use the Social Security method: First you create a Lurker Treasury, your own private bank. You create Lurker ...

Re: SS dies in 2017??!

SS makes no sense and never did make any sense now that I understand the fact it's all invested in T-bills. It's simply the government investing in itself, then spending that investment money however it feels. Makes about as much sense as a business that purchases its own IPO. SS isn't the current ...
