Re: Summer Mish-Mash

I can't stand Joe, but I'm sure that has more to do with the show/the producers than it does with Joe himself. He used to be a bit of douche when he'd do guest/sommelier spots on Molto Mario back in the day, but he cranks up the dick bag for Master Chef . But, as mentioned, I'm sure that has more to...

I just find it interesting to see "comedy" and "Jimmy Fallon" used in the same sentence.

Re: Rant Board Weight Loss / Exercise Thread

As far as minimalist/barefoot shoes go, I've loved my Merrell Trail Gloves as a nice alternative to the ridiculous look of Vibrams. I realize it's silly to get hung up on the style, but yeah . . . I just can't do Vibrams.

If nothing else, I suppose you could always watch it for the crazy amounts of sexual tension/unrequited love between a pretty boy werewolf and Eric Northman's little brother.

Re: Hemlock Grove

Yeah, it definitely leaves you filling in a lot of the blanks on your own, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I still think it could have been a pretty good show, there's just some really poorly done aspects that make it a rough 10 or 11 hours until you finally get to the payoff. Mostly, I just wi...

Re: Hemlock Grove

I ended up watching the whole series, if for no other reason than "Fuck, I've gone this far, might as well go the rest of the way . . ." feelings, and it remains pretty disappointing overall. It's disappointing in that the premise is actually a fairly interesting one and could have really been fun i...

Re: Hemlock Grove

I realized last night that I had actually sat through six episodes, not the four that I originally had thought. With that in mind, I call Bullshit on the fifth episode turning point I heard about. While the show does slightly get more interesting, it's not enough so that I could ever recommend it to...

Re: Hemlock Grove

I've made it through episode four and I'm still wondering the same thing. I've heard/read a number of times that episode five is where it supposedly starts to get more interesting, I just don't know if I care enough to bother.

Re: Explosions at Boston Marathon

As far as I know, it's been officially confirmed that it was a bombing. There was apparently another explosion at the JFK presidential library as well (granted, reading the linked article, I see there's mention in a sidebar that the JFK incident was unrelated).

Re: The All-Encompassing "TV SHOW" LIST

Not to say that Anna Silk is an unattractive woman in the least, I've just always found her to be outshined in most cases by a large portion of the female cast, including Kenzi, Tamsin, The Morrigan, any number of background extras/single-episode-nobodies, etc. She's a hell of a lot more attractive ...

I figured I'd just drop this here: 10 Book Series So Addictive, You Never Want Them To End Mainly because: 4) Seanan McGuire's October Daye novels Like the Felix Castor books and many other series, McGuire's urban fantasy series combines some pulpy detective tropes with fantasy elements — but these ...

It's no Sherlock, but it's definitely enjoyable and worth a watch. Granted, I've been pro-Elba since The Wire.

Re: The Walking Dead

IMDB lists at least 10 episodes, with two of them airing in February of next year. Granted, it doesn't make sense that they'd have a second half of a season that consisted of only two episodes. At the same time, it doesn't make sense that such a successful show would put out less episodes than it di...

Re: Rant Board Weight Loss / Exercise Thread

I would think that for someone looking to take an initial, exploratory stab at some form of weight training, body weight exercises/calisthenics wouldn't be a horrible place to start. There's no additional expense, you take the required "equipment" with you everywhere you go, it's easy to find time i...

It was my understanding that Kirkman recently announced Danai Gurira was playing Michonne. That's fine with me because I don't think I could handle a Tara Part Two.

Ever since I realized that the witch (Marnie) in True Blood is Harry Potter's witch-and-wizard-hating aunt, I can't help but think of how much of a hypocrite she is.
